Course Description
Perfect for budding chess strategists, the Intermediate 1 Saturday class helps students deepen their game through targeted instruction and analysis. Over 14 one-hour sessions running from September 20 to December 20, 2025, learners will engage with a stimulating curriculum that includes opening traps, tactical combinations, master game breakdowns, and visualization training. Priced at $40 per session, the full semester costs $560.
Key Highlights:
- Opening Traps & Tactical Combos: Students learn to spot and employ short, powerful sequences that can turn the game in their favor early on.
- Checkmates in 2–4 Moves: Learners will work through multi-step checkmate patterns, building both precision and forward-thinking.
- Master Games Analysis: Through guided examination of master-level games, students gain valuable insights into strategic decision-making.
- 1–2 Move Visualization Skills: Training enables students to predict and plan their moves (and their opponent’s) one to two moves ahead.
By the end of this Intermediate 1 class, students will confidently identify and execute opening traps, calculate multi-move tactics, and recognize checkmate patterns with clarity. With a sharpened mind from master game analysis and visualization training, they’ll be ready to advance into competitive play or higher-level instruction.
